INDICATIONS
Treatment of respiratory tract exacerbations due to sensitive H.influenzae and Streptococcal infections.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Allopurinol
Increased risk of rash with concomitant use.
Methotrexate
Increases methotrexate toxicity (reduced secretion).
Probenecid
Reduces penicillin excretion.
NOTES
Higher doses (e.g. 1 g tds) often used in CF due to altered pharmacokinetics.
