INDICATIONS
The suppressive therapy of chronic pulmonary infections due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) aged 6 years and older.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Allopurinol
Increased risk of rash with concomitant use.
Methotrexate
Increases methotrexate toxicity (reduced secretion).
Probenecid
Reduces penicillin excretion.
NOTES
Pre-treat with bronchodilator. 28-day on/off cycles.
