INDICATIONS
Treatment of community acquired pneumonia, cellulitis and surgical prophylaxis. Good activity against Haemophilus influenzae.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Probenecid
Reduces excretion of Cephalosporins.
Warfarin
Rare reports of increases in prothrombin time.
NOTES
Oral cefuroxime axetil less suited to severe infection.
