Antibiotic
INDICATIONS
Serious infections unresponsive to other antibiotics including Pseudomonas aeruginosa , H.influenzae , Staphylococcus aureus, S maltophilia and B .cepacia.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Ciclosporin
Possibly increases Ciclosporin levels.
Phenobarbitone
Metabolism of chloramphenicol enhanced.
Phenytoin
Increased phenytoin plasma levels.
Rifampicin
Lowers plasma concentration of chloramphenicol.
Sulphonylureas
Sulphonylureas effect enhanced.
Tacrolimus
Possibly increases Tacrolimus levels.
Warfarin
Increased INR
NOTES
Systemic use exceptional; TDM required.
