INDICATIONS
Treatment (and prophylaxis) of Tuberculosis but always as a combination with other drugs.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Antacids
Reduce isoniazid absorption.
Antiepileptics
Metabolism of phenytoin and carbamazepine inhibited therefore increased plasma concentrations. Carbamazepine may enhance hepatotoxicity.
Cycloserine
Increased risk of CNS toxicity.
Diazepam
Diazepam metabolism inhibited.
General anaesthetics
Possible hepatotoxicity.
Ketoconazole
Possible reduction of plasma Ketaconazole levels.
Theophyllines
Possible increase in theophylline levels.
NOTES
Co-prescribe pyridoxine 10–25 mg daily. Monitor LFTs.
