Carbapenem antibiotic
INDICATIONS
Treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Burkholderia respiratory infections. Also active against H.influenza and S.aureus.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Probenecid
Excretion of Meropenem reduced by probenecid. Avoid concomitant use.
Valproate
Reduces plasma concentration of valproate may lead to sub-therapeutic valproate levels.
NOTES
Reduce dose in renal impairment. Often used in combination for resistant Burkholderia.
