INDICATIONS

Taurolidine is an unlicensed product available as an intraperitoneal lavage (Taurolin®). It acts as an antibiotic and an anti-endotoxin with a broad spectrum of activity against Gram negative and positive bacteria and fungi. Taurolidine is active in vitro against P. aeruginosa and Burkholderia Cepacia Complex (Bcc). It is presently used as nebulised therapy in transplant patients with B.cepacia.
