INDICATIONS

Treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Burkholderia cepacia respiratory infections. Prophylaxis for Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Amphotericin
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

Bisphosphonates
Increased risk of hypocalcaemia.

Colistin
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

Cyclosporin
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

Loop diuretics
Increased risk of ototoxicity.

Muscle relaxants
Enhanced effect.

Tacrolimus
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

Vancomycin and Teicoplanin
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity.

NOTES

Monitor serum levels (pre-dose <1 mg/L). Monitor renal function and audiometry.
